SALEM - Louise E. (Church) Richiuts, 89, wife of Armand Richiuts, of Salem, died Wednesday morning in the Grosvenor Park Nursing Home, Salem, following a short illness related to Alzheimers.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Cassie (Bryer) Church and was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Richiuts and he husband Armand, owned and operated Armand’s Variety at 69 Essex St., Salem, from 1950 until their retirement in 1982.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Salem, where, years ago, she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.
She enjoyed reading, puzzles, sewing, knitting, gardening and travel with her husband.
Besides her husband, with whom she shared almost 69 years of marriage, she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Joyce Carson and Sandra & James Iwanicki, of Salem, a daughter-in-law, Barbara Richiuts of Kissimi, FL, 9 grandchildren, Richard Richiuts of Kissimi, FL, Jeffrey Richiuts of Salem, NH, Suzanne Pierce of Shapleigh, ME, Laurieanne Emery and Linda Iwanicki of Salem, Cherylanne Huot and Michael Carson of Sanford, ME, Nancy Alexander of Dayton, OH, David Iwanicki of Nevada, CA,11 great grandchildren, two sisters, Priscilla Bell and Dorothy Newcomb, both of Salem, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Ronald A. Richiuts.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, September 22, 2006 at 1:30 pm in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Committal will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
