In loving memory of John Joseph Flaherty born on June 25, 1942 in Providence RI. John dedicated his life to learning and teaching. He began his career as a mathematics professor at RI Junior College (CCRI) in 1972. He spent decades teaching math to many students, many of whom wrote to him over the years thanking him for making math understandable! “A great teacher opens a mind and touches a heart”.
John was a devoted brother and uncle. He is survived by his brother Thomas F. Flaherty, his nephew David Flaherty (Anne-Marie), his nieces, Lynn Sanville (Tim), Karen Pappas (James) and Tracey McCallig (Gerard) and his great nieces and nephews Ashley, Elizabeth, Colby, Hannah, Tucker, Jack, Keira and Nolan. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas A. Flaherty and Gertrude E. Flaherty and his sister Eileen G. Flaherty.
