Lyle A. “Skip” Bash, 86, of Commodore, PA went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 26, 2026 from his daughter’s home with loving family by his side.
The son of Lyle C. Bash and Violet (Huey) Bash, he was born on June 26, 1940.
Lyle was raised in Learn Settlement and attended Purchase Line High School.
He married the love of his life, Carol (Lowther) Bash, on October 15, 1956. They shared sixty-five years of marriage together.
Lyle was the owner/operator of Bash’s Sawmill and Bash’s Saw Shop, where he worked endless hours. He was also the co-owner of Bash’s Personal Care Home.
He was on the Purchase Line School Board and also worked for Pete Stewart Auctioneer.
Lyle was a proud member of the Pine Flats Church of God, where he served as the bell ringer for many years. He loved his church and his church family.
Lyle is survived by his four children: Jeffrey of Commodore, PA; Timothy and wife, Lillian of Cherry Tree, PA; Scot and wife, JoAnn of Commodore, PA and Penny Lutman and husband, George of Commodore, PA.
He was the loving Pappy to twelve grandchildren and great Pappy to twenty-four great grandchildren. Lyle is survived by a sister, Darlene Myers and companion, Bob Kostryk of Dixonville, PA.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; wife Carol; grandson baby boy Bash; great grandson, Logan Tyler Clawson and daughter-in-law, Debra Bash.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, viewing will continue from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at the Pine Flats Church of God located in Pine Flats with a physical address of 1681 Route 580, Clymer, PA. His son, Pastor Timothy Bash, will officiate. Interment will take place at Cookport Methodist Cemetery in Cookport, PA.
