Obituary

Sally Elizabeth Wiley-Freeman, was born in Mobile, Alabama to the late Fred Wiley Sr. and the late Ceola Blackman-Wiley. She moved to Boston as a young child attending school at the C.C. Perkins, later attending Girls High. She leaves behind one brother, Joseph, her late brother, Fred Jr. and two sisters Viola and Freda. Mother of (5) Carmen, Ronald Jr., late daughter, Renée, Lisa, and Kimberly. Grandmother of (15) Shawnda, Dana, Eugenia, Lanier III, Leanna, Kimara, Renee, Kenya, Lisa, Kenny, Kimi, Ron, Myles, Kiara and Seen. Five great grandchildren Anieria, Acacia, Lanier IV, Adriana and Autumn. Two great-great grandchildren Carmen and Tony. Two godchildren Deborah Smith and Ralph Barbosa-Murphy. Former husband Ronald Freeman Sr., extended Rose family, many great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Lifelong friends Ellen Pratt-Fuller, Dolores Johnson-Nelson and Lois McGhee. Sally loved fashion and displayed it in her everyday life.

She was a seamstress who found joy in creating pieces for herself, her kids and even for her grandchildren’s talent shows and daily outfits. If you couldn’t find Sally behind a sewing machine you could find her in the kitchen creating her signature dishes which included sweet rolls, sweet potato pie, gumbo, candied yams, cakes and many other homemade dishes made from scratch. She loved to have the family pile up at her house on every holiday where they all could share laughs, stories and occasional arguments. She was family oriented and wished for the family to spend as much time as possible. Sally will be greatly missed for her beauty, sass, wits and words of wisdom. In the words of Sally, “Lorddd, give me strength”. Wishing eternal peace for Sally, the Freeman’s, the Wiley’s and extended family and friends.
