Donald W. Moran, Sr. 81, died Tuesday September 19th in the Sachem Nursing Home, after a period of failing health.
Born in Canada, he was the son of the late William J. and Frederica (Simpson) Moran, he had been an Abington resident for over 50 years. He went to the school to be a Jeweler.
Mr. Moran was the founder of Moran Jewelers since 1948 in Abington, where he was very active in the business until recently.
Donald was a member of the John Cutler Lodger since 1947.
He served for 2 years the Canadian Navy.
Donald enjoyed gardening, traveling and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Donald W. Moran, Jr., and Cynthia Moran of Brockton, several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Robert Moran and Jean Winsor
His funeral service will be held Friday September 22 at 8:30 P.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Visiting hours Friday September 22nd 5-8:30 P.M. Burial will be at a later date.
