Gloria (Kiatos) Hill, 89, of South Boston & Hingham, passed away peacefully on June 17th.
She was the daughter of the late Peter & Thomaidha (Zengo) Kiatos of Dardhë, Albania & South Boston. Her mother, Thomaidha, was a prominent iconographer & painter who was known for creating small icons for St. George’s Cathedral in South Boston.
Gloria was also the sister of the late Richard Kiatos of South Boston & Melrose.
She was the beloved wife of the late George Hill of South Boston.
Stepmother to Dorothy (Hill) O’Neil & her husband Jack of NH, Nancy Hill & her husband Tom Farina of Hingham, the late Richard Hill, Kristina (Hill) Walker & her late husband Bill of FL, Gregory Hill & his wife Rhonda (Luongo) of Braintree & Mary (Hill) Kennedy & her husband John of Weymouth.
Gloria was a loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren. Loving Aunt to nephews Richard & Christopher, and her niece Susan.
Gloria lived a full life. She was employed by the New England Telephone Company for 36 years, first as an operator, then as a collections clerk. She enjoyed traveling & spending time with friends & family.
Gloria was a devout Christian who loved helping people. She and her husband, George, were instrumental in helping a great many Albanians coming to this country. Whether it be as an interpreter, or offering assistance in finding a place to live & everything that entails. Whenever Gloria was called upon, she was there to help. She was also a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers of America - a volunteer organization dedicated to helping various community non-profit charities. Gloria touched many lives & she will be sorely missed.

Services for Gloria will be held at St. Peter’s Church in South Boston on July 1st, 2026, at 9:30 am. Funeral Mass immediately following at 11:00 am. Burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester.
