Obituary

Catherine Frances (Parchesky) Perkins, 82, of Medway died June 18 at the Serenity Hill Nursing Center in Wrentham following a long illness. She was the wife of the late John B. Perkins, who died in 2013.

Born in Milford, November 16, 1943, the daughter of the late Felix E. and Cecilia (Perkins) Parchesky. Catherine was a lifelong Medway resident.

Catherine was a 1961 graduate of Medway High School and also a graduate of the former Burdett College in Boston.

Catherine worked in the accounting and insurance fields throughout her career before retirement. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, doll-making, and being involved in events in Medway. She volunteered at the Medway Friends of the Elders senior center, was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and was the Treasurer of the Medway Historical Society for many years.

She is survived by her children, Durinda Perkins, of Denver, Colorado and Douglas Perkins and his partner Michelle Morrissette of Medway.

She is also survived by two brothers, Joseph Parchesky of Texas and Andrew Parchesky of Medway, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Francis Parchesky, Philip Parchesky, and Felicia (Parchesky) Reitz.

Catherine’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 25 in St. Joseph Church, Medway, at 10:00 am.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, June 24 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway from 4-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Medway Historical Society, 223 Main Street, Medway, MA 02053.
