Donald John McGrath, 72 of Lowell, passed away after an accidental fall on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
He was born in Lowell on April 19, 1954, and was the son of the late James J. McGrath and the late Josephine (Fernandez) McGrath. Raised in Lowell, he attended local schools and graduated from Lowell High School. Don went on to have a long and dedicated career as a long-haul truck driver, spending more than 25 years traveling the roads and taking pride in his work.
He enjoyed spending time at the Lowell Senior Center and had a lifelong passion for cars, possessing an encyclopedic knowledge of automobiles. He also loved watching television, especially classic shows from the 1950s and 1960s. Known for his kind and gentle nature, he was truly a gentle and trusting man who always saw the good in others. His hearty, infectious laugh could fill a room and brought joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Don is survived by his brother, Scott McGrath and his wife, Gercina of Lowell.
