John B. Brito, 40, of New Bedford died September 8, 2002 at home unexpectedly.
He was the son of Bras and Julia (Almeida) Brito of New Bedford.
Mr. Brito was born in New Bedford and lived in Onset several years before returning to New Bedford.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mr. Brito was employed as a correctional officer at Walpole Correctional Institute for 15 years.
He was a member of the Carney Lodge of Elks.
Survivors include his parents; 2 sons, John B. Brito and Kyle B. Brito, both of Onset; 3 brothers, Robert Almeida and Mario Brito, both of Virginia Beach, VA and Kevin Brito of New Bedford; a sister, Adriann Brito of New Bedford; 3 nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordWednesday, September 11th at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Tuesday, September 10th from 4-8 PM.
Interment St. John's Cemetery.
