Obituary

Raymonde (Moisan) Théberge, 92, passed away at her home in Attleboro, Massachusetts, on May 5, 2026, after a long illness. In her final days, she was comforted by visits, prayers, and the love of family and friends. She faced her illness with the same faith, strength, courage, and grace that defined her life.

Born on January 9, 1934, in Québec City, Canada, Raymonde lived a life defined by creativity, faith, resilience, and dedication to her family and community. She immigrated to the United States after marrying her late husband, Rémy Théberge, to whom she was married for just shy of 50 years. As a young woman, she built a warm and welcoming home centered around family, friendship, and tradition.

Along with the love she shared throughout her life, Raymonde carried with her the memory of those who passed before her. She was the daughter of the late Paul-Eugène Moisan and Alexandra (Bernier) Moisan. She was also predeceased by her youngest child, Karyn (Théberge) Adams; her great-grandchildren, Shaun Patrick Tracey, Maverick Austin Bliss and an unborn great-grandchild; and her sister, Yolande Moisan.

Raymonde is survived by her children, Denyse Théberge-Tracey of Attleboro, Rémy Théberge of North Providence, and Stephen Théberge of Attleboro; seven grandchildren: Stephany, Daysha, Jenelle, Alexa, Patrick, Nelson, and Shannyn; five great-grandchildren; and four siblings, André Moisan, Françoise Moisan, Michel Moisan, and Pierre Moisan, all of the Province of Québec, Canada. She also leaves behind her dear best friend, Joan Metcalf; many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, caregivers, and others whose lives she influenced through her kindness and generosity.

Her strong sense of faith and community remained a guiding force throughout her life. A longtime member of St. Stephen’s Church until its closing, Raymonde became a familiar presence to generations of parishioners. She was especially known for announcing, “We have a winner!” at the annual Christmas bazaar, where her laughter and enthusiasm brought energy to the event. Her faith remained an important part of her life, and she found joy in volunteering, helping others, and staying connected to her church community.

In addition to her devotion to others, Raymonde found joy in creativity and craftsmanship. She enjoyed sewing gatherings with close friends and shared her skills as a craft instructor at Bev’s Beehive, encouraging beginners with patience and care. She had a talent for making beautiful things and took pride in every detail, whether creating handmade crafts, decorating her home for the holidays, arranging flowers, or preparing thoughtful meals for family and guests. Known for her polished appearance, coordinated outfits, and fondness for jewelry, she carried herself with confidence and style.

Just as she brought care and creativity into her work, she also brought warmth and humor into her relationships. Those who knew Raymonde appreciated her quick wit, lively personality, and ability to bring humor to difficult moments. She loved music, conversation, and spending time surrounded by people she cared about. Over the years, she formed lasting connections with the nurses, therapists, and caregivers who assisted her, always expressing gratitude and making others feel valued. Throughout her final illness, she remained determined and gracious.

Above all, Raymonde valued her family deeply. She celebrated milestones with pride, treasured time with her children and grandchildren, and created traditions that will continue to be remembered. Her home was often a gathering place filled with laughter, stories, and the comfort of being together. Her guidance, strength, and unwavering support shaped the lives of those closest to her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk, Massachusetts. Burial will immediately follow at St. Stephen’s.
