Celia (DiMartino) Black, a lifelong resident of Dedham, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 6, 2026. Beloved wife of Charles F. Black Sr. Devoted and loving mother to Charles Jr. and wife Kathy (Wood) of Prescott Valley, AZ. Debra Nolan and her husband Bill of North Attleboro, Stephen and his wife Amy (Donahue) of Dedham and John and his wife Kristen (Fowler) of Florence, SC. Celia also leaves behind her precious grandchildren Jared, Jacqui, Justin, Brian, Austin, Abigail, Jimmy, Haylee and Holley, and her great grandson John Reilly. Predeceased by her loving parents John and Helen DiMartino, sister Joanne and grandson Jeremy.
Celia was a devoted Mother who loved to cook for everyone. If a neighbor or friend was not feeling well, they could expect her delicious Escarole Soup or a full dinner for their family. She was a softball coach, CCD teacher, and the ultimate Hockey Mom. A lifelong parishioner of Saint Mary of the Assumption Church and friend to all.
A visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St, Dedham on Friday, June 12 from 8:00-9:45am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10:00am (accessible parking in the rear of the church). Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
