Obituary

Stanley Dunlap, 74, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Quincy on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

He was born on May 26, 1952, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Hannalore and John Dunlap.

Stanley proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years working as a firefighter. After receiving an honorable discharge, he spent his career as a truck driver until his retirement.

In his free time, Stanley enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and looked forward each year to attending Laconia Motorcycle Week. He admired classic cars, had a passion for history, and loved spending quality time with family and friends. Stanley was a dreamer who could sing and whistle along to just about any tune he heard, and he embraced life with enthusiasm, living it to the fullest.

Stanley is survived by his former wife, Marion Devost; their four children, Tara Dunlap; Brian Dunlap and his wife, Barbara; Kurt Dunlap and his wife, Tina; and Jan Dunlap and her husband, Si Mohammed Lotfi. He was a beloved Papa to Haley, Deven, Kelsea, Kobe, and Azzedine, and a proud great-grandfather to Kyaire.

He is also survived by his brother, John Dunlap II, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Derome.

Visiting hours to honor Stanley's life will be held on Saturday, June 13, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Casper's Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, Boston. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Boston.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Stanley's memory be made to the Purple Heart Foundation. Purpleheartfoundation.org
