Obituary

Bernice (Rosen) Aceto, of Woburn, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at the age of 88. Born to June (Harris) and Bernard Rosen, Bernice grew up in Malden and later made Woburn her lifelong home. She built a life centered on family, love, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished most.

Bernice was the beloved wife of the late John Aceto and a devoted mother to her daughter, Denise Graffeo and her husband, Dean, and her son, Michael Aceto and his wife, Linsley. She was a proud and loving Nana to Courtney Cooke and her husband, Brendan; Stephanie Graffeo; Derek Graffeo; Garrett Aceto; Brett Aceto; and Cameron Aceto. She was the loving sister of the late Annette Aceto and her late husband, Frank. Bernice was also a special aunt to Dana Aceto and his wife, Monica, and their children, Vincent and Brandon. Completing her family circle were her cherished grand dogs, Daisy and Mugsy.

One of the most unique and treasured chapters of Bernice's life was shared with her sister, Annette. The two sisters married brothers, John and Frank, and together raised their families in a duplex in Woburn, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and enduring family traditions. Family life revolved around nightly suppers, where everyone gathered around the table before ending the evening with tea, dessert, and conversations about the day's events. Their home was always bustling with family and friends, creating a welcoming environment where everyone felt they belonged. During the summer months, Bernice and Annette especially loved hosting pool parties, bringing together loved ones for days filled with food, fun, and unforgettable moments. The Aceto family also cherished their annual vacations together, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Some of their favorite destinations included Florida, California, Myrtle Beach, Acapulco, and Canada. These trips provided opportunities for family bonding, adventure, and many happy times together. Later in life, Bernice especially enjoyed traveling on cruises with her husband, John, along with family and dear friends. She treasured the time spent together, creating lasting memories while exploring new places and enjoying each other's company.

A natural caregiver, Bernice devoted her life to caring for those around her. She found her greatest fulfillment in taking care of the people she loved. After her children were grown, she went back to work at Northern Bank and Trust as a Loan Processor, where she enjoyed the relationships she formed with many of her coworkers. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family. She rarely missed a special occasion, school event, performance, or sporting event involving her children and grandchildren. Whether cheering from the sidelines, celebrating milestones, or simply spending time together, she was a constant source of love, encouragement, and support. Her family always knew they could count on her presence and her unconditional love.

Bernice also enjoyed the lifelong friendships she maintained over the years. Thursday nights were reserved for a special group of friends she affectionately called "Club." Whether playing cards, sharing stories over dinner and dessert, or attending shows together, those friendships brought her great happiness. She loved music and dancing and could often be found enjoying a dance whenever the opportunity arose.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to honor Bernice's life on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, calling hours from 9 to 11 a.m. with a prayer service beginning at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Though she will be deeply missed, Bernice's love, generosity, and devotion to family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions in Bernice's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org
