Ernest U. Labbe, 86 of Londonderry, NH died Saturday May 30, 2026 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH surrounded by the loving family he cherished. Ernie was born in Lowell, MA on January 23, 1940, son of the late Urbain and Dora (Richard) Labbe. He had resided in Londonderry for the past 16 years, formerly living in Pelham, NH.
He owned a successful business, Ernie Labbe Home Improvements, for many years. Ernie had various interests and hobbies. In his earlier years, he and his wife, Nancy enjoyed square dancing with the Pelham Partners. Hobbies included silk floral arranging, making jewelry, and teaching himself how to play the ukulele and the dulcimer. He was quite talented and received great pleasure being on the activities committee at the NEVINS where he lived, scripting plays and roasts, and just genuinely loved making people laugh with his quirky sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Surprenant) Labbe of Londonderry, two daughters, Diana McInnis of Alton, NH, and Michelle Smith and her husband David of Peterborough, NH, grandchild Jessica Swindell and her husband Eric of Epping, NH, great-grandchildren Ayden, Jaxon, and Blake, grandchild Robert McInnis, Jr., and his wife Jessica of Wolfeboro, NH, and great-grandchild Paisley, his son-in-law, Jeff Parker of Hudson, NH. He was predeceased by his daughter, Norma Parker.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Thursday June 4, 2026 from 4 – 5:30pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Catholic prayers will follow at 5:30pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
