Obituary

James E. Wiley 67, of Sandstone West Virginia died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at his home. He was the husband of Elizabeth J. (Brunelli) Wiley.
Born in Acushnet, a son of the late John E. and Catherine (Robertson) Wiley, he grew up in New Bedford. He had lived previously in Attleboro for many years before moving to West Virginia about 18 months ago.
Mr. Wiley was a retired engineer for Amtrak. He worked also as an engineer for the former New York-New Haven Railroad.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960, attaining the rank of private first class and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a member of several Rhode Island-area Masonic lodges, including the Providence AF & AM Lodge and Bristol Lodge in Attleboro.
His hobbies and interests included eBay sales, travel and reading.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son James E. Wiley Jr. of Long Island, New York and a brother Edward Wiley of New Bedford.
The funeral with military honors will be held Tuesday September 19, 2006 at 8:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St., Franklin followed by a funeral Mass at 9AM at St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Calling hours are Monday from 2-4 & 6-8PM at the funeral home.
