TURKE, William R. Sr. of West Roxbury, passed away on May 28, 2026. Devoted father of Lauren Gill and her husband Chris of Norton, and William R. Turke Jr. of Hyde Park. Loving Gampie of Erin Gill of East Boston, and Ryan Gill and Nicholas Gill both of Norton. Brother of Jack Turke of Wrentham. Also survived by many cousins and friends.
Bill retired as the Assistant Recorder for the Suffolk County Registry of Deeds. He was also a former police officer for the Town of Walpole. Longtime real estate broker for Brennan Real Estate, West Roxbury. Former Commander of the American Legion Post #167, West Roxbury. Member and former treasurer of the Mt. Pleasant Council Knights of Columbus #98. 1st Lt., National Guard where he served for 10 years. Member of the Moose Lodge, Dedham, #189. He was a proud eagle scout. Bill was a proud Bostonian and loved West Roxbury and South Yarmouth.
Visiting hours will be held at the P.E. Murray - F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 2000 Centre St. West Roxbury on Monday, June 1st from 4-7pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 2nd at 12 Noon. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale.
