
On May 18, 2026 Camilo E. Quintero passed away peacefully at the age of 82.
Born in Ecuador, Camilo came to the United States in search of opportunity and brighter future. He met the love of his life, Sonnia Quintero, and they were married in March of 1971. Together, they build a loving family and shared more than 50 years of marriage.
A hardworking and devoted family man, Camilo took great pride in his five children: Roxana, Sonnia, Sharon, Sabrina, and Joshua. He loved soccer, both as a player and coach, and was eagerly looking forward to cheering on Ecuador in the 2026 World Cup. He also enjoyed collecting sports cards, taking photographs and especially signing and recording his favorite songs.
Known for his youthful spirit, optimism and determination, Camilo approached life with resilience and joy. Though he had many nicknames over the years, the one he treasured most was “Pampa” lovingly given to him by his grandchildren.
Camilo is survived by his children Roxana Kelleher and her husband Daniel Kelleher and their children Kiana, Selena, Gabriella, Jacob and Joshua Kelleher, Sonnia Merwin and her son Jaden Merwin, Sharon Quintero and her children Quincy Garcia and Sophia Ortega, Sabrina Colon and her husband Willie Colon and their children Geovanni and Julian Colon, Joshua Quintero and his wife Janelle Quintero and their children Alivia and Cole Quintero. He is also survived by seven brothers and sisters, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing at Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday June 10, 2026 from 4-7pm
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association and Alzheimer’s Association.
