Obituary

James “Jim” Frank Pericotti, of Revere, formerly of Winthrop and Billerica, passed away peacefully, following a lengthy illness on Tuesday May 26, 2026 at the Bedford Veteran’s Hospital.

Born in Boston on May 13, 1932, to the late James and Etta (Puleo) Pericotti, Jim had just turned 94 on May 13th. Jim was raised in the North End of Boston and graduated from Boston English High School with the class of 1950. Jim was drafted into the US Army in 1952 and served with honor in Korea until 1954. Prior to being drafted, Jim began his career working at Globe Ticket Company and resumed when he returned from Korea until his retirement in 1994. He married the love of his life, the late BettyAnn (Jenkins) Pericotti, on November 6, 1960. Together they moved to Somerville to start their family before settling in Billerica for 39 years. Later in life, they returned to Winthrop before making his home in Revere.

Jim’s passion was his family and sports. He loved all his Boston Sports teams. A game was always on the TV, whether it was the Red Sox, Celtics, Pats or Bruins. He also coached his children, Jeannine and Jim as well as his grandsons Fred and Steven. Jim also was part of the Billerica Friends of Music parent group that would set up and move equipment and instruments for all three of his children, Francine, Jeannine and Jim. He loved watching his children play in the band and watching them play sports. He was the best dad ever!!

Above all, Jim loved his family and cherished spending time with them. He was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa/papa, great papa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. Everyone who knew and met Jim would say he was the kindest and a great man who would give you the shirt off his back.

Jim was the loving husband of the late BettyAnn Pericotti with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. He was a devoted dad of Francine Meigs and her husband Jonathan of Leominster, Jeannine Pericotti of Billerica, and James F. “Jim” Pericotti, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Danvers. The cherished grandpa of Matthew J. Meigs of Leominster, Richard J. Meigs and his wife Stephanie of Monson, cherished papa of Frederick J. Leite and his wife Jessica of Tewksbury, Steven L. Santos and his wife Cristina of Lexington and Tyler W. Rosso of Danvers; and great papa of Jonathan and Joseph Leite and Sophia Meigs. He is the brother of Marguerite (Pericotti) Bramante of Reading, the late Camille (Pericotti) Oteri, and Marie (Pericotti) Galante and her husband Joseph of Medford. A true animal lover, he adored his cat, Penny, who was adopted by his wonderful friend Tammy.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford on Friday, June 5th from 4 – 7 PM and again on Saturday morning, June 6th at 8:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Leonard Church, 320 Hanover Street, Boston’s North End Services will conclude with military honors and burial at Belle Isle Cemetery, Winthrop.

******** Jim has requested that all family and friends who attend his services do not wear black or suits and ties. Jim wants all to celebrate his life and love of Boston sports by wearing your favorite BOSTON Sports team jerseys/shirts. No Yankee shirts are permitted ********
