Maxine Beth Vetor, 102, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, surrounded by her family at Primrose Retirement Community.
She was born on October 12, 1923, in French Lick, Indiana to the late Charles H. and Cecile (Wininger) Leonard. She was a 1941 graduate of Anderson High School. She attended Indiana University and got her associate’s degree at the International Business College. She married her husband, Charles Max Vetor on June 13, 1948, in Anderson.
She worked as an executive secretary at Delco Remy in Plant 1, leaving that position to devote herself to her family. She was a loving mother who was very involved with her children’s activities.
She enjoyed Bible study with her daughter, Cheryl; flower gardening, playing bingo, listening to music programs, working her daily crossword puzzles, and staying up to date on all current events. She was a member of the ABWA and several euchre groups. She was a very charitable lady who supported various organizations. She always had a joyful spirit and spread happiness to everyone around her.
She is survived by her four children, Cheryl (Rev. Dr. Dennis) Hamilton of Tilden, Illinois, Mike (Barb) Vetor of Cicero, Dawn (Tim) Sachse of Anderson, and Brad (Becky) Vetor of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren, Arne (Deb) Halvorsen, Erik (Indre) Halvorsen, Andy (Amanda) Vetor, Josh (Taylor) Vetor, Betsy (fiancé’, Trey Murphy) Sachse-Baxter, Jill (Erick) Cooley, Dr. Ryan (Betsy) Vetor, Craig (Ashley) Vetor, and Erin (Sara) Vetor-Smith; 13 great-grandchildren, Aiden Halvorsen, Kristian Halvorsen, J J Baxter, Samantha Vetor, William Vetor, Max Vetor, Miles Vetor, Jonah Cooley, Mackie Cooley, Quinn Vetor, Parker Vetor, Charlie Vetor, and Evie Vetor; a sister-in-law, Carla Vetor of Summitville; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 65 years, Charles Max Vetor in 2013; two sisters, Jeannie Pollock and Beverly Lumpe Gilmore; several brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law.

Funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Dr. Dennis Hamilton officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 am to 2:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.
