
Lawrence J. Walsh, of Centerville, MA, formerly of Pawtucket, RI, passed away on Monday May 25th.
Born on March 18th, 1946, Larry was the fifth of six children and the son of the late Dr. James T. Walsh and Dr. Phyllis Walsh-Sullivan. He was also the stepson to the late Daniel Sullivan. Larry was born and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and after retirement moved to Centerville on Cape Cod.
Larry earned his bachelor’s degree from Bryant College and later received a Master of Arts degree from the University of Rhode Island. He owned and operated the Durable Braided Rug Company before beginning a career with the Rhode Island Department of Corrections, where he served as Director of Marketing until his retirement.
A dedicated member of the community, Larry helped establish and lead the Pawtucket Fireworks Committee for many years. He supported the Pawtucket Soap Box Derby and served as President of the Darlington American Little League.
He is survived by his beloved wife Gail M. Walsh (Shepherd), with whom he shared nearly 60 years of marriage; his two sons, Christopher L. Walsh, his wife Kathleen and their son Ryan of North Smithfield, RI and Bryan J. Walsh of North Attleboro, MA.
He is also survived by his siblings Jane Hart of Plainville, MA and Phil Walsh and his wife Maureen of East Weymouth, MA. He was predeceased by his brother, Deacon James T. Walsh and sisters, Mary Gauthier and Joan Trelease. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry will be remembered for his dedication to his family and community. In accordance with his wishes, no funeral services are planned at this time. His family appreciates your thoughts, prayers, and memories during this time.
