CHICOPEE – Valentine “Vinnie” DiDomenico, 79, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026. He passed into Eternal Life at Vantage at West Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in the Bronx, New York on July 2, 1946, a beloved son of the late Dominic and Mary (O’Bara) DiDomenico. He was raised and educated in the Bronx, and moved to Chicopee in 1974 where he lived the remainder of his life. He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He attained the rank of Private First Class and received the National Defense Service Medal. He was employed as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service out of the Main Street branch in Springfield. He served as the Union Steward for the Letter Carriers Union. He was a member of the VFW in Chicopee. During his quiet time, Vinnie enjoyed making model cars with precision and attention to detail. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Maryann C. (Soukey) DiDomenico; his loving and devoted son, David DiDomenico and his wife, Rose, of New York; his three cherished grandchildren, Destiny, Devin, and Dominique; and his dear brother, Vincent J. DiDomenico and his wife, Mary, of Middletown, NY; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend his Committal Service with United States Army Military Honors on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
