
DUDLEY – Paul J. Binienda, Sr., 71, died Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gale E. (Zamis) Binienda; three children, Paul J. Binienda, Jr. and his wife Andrea of New Bedford, Kelly L. McDonald and her husband Donovan of Warren, and Brian M. Binienda and his wife Sara of Southbridge; four grandchildren, Abigail Nelson-Binienda, Luke McDonald, Braydon McDonald, and David Nelson-Binienda; three brothers, Joseph Binienda and his wife Marsha of Winter Haven, FL, Edward Binienda and his wife Maureen, and Thomas Binienda and his wife Patricia, all of Worcester; three sisters, Donna Levansavich and her husband Richard, Mary Steele and her husband Francis, both of Auburn, and Kathleen Dufresne and her husband Raymond of Naples, FL; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson Everett Nelson-Binienda in 2010 and by his brother John Binienda in 2014.
He was born in Worcester on January 24, 1955, to Thaddeus and Mary (O’Coin) Binienda and graduated from St. Peter’s High School in 1974. He lived in Worcester before moving to Dudley in 1983.
Mr. Binienda worked for Zamis Wholesale Florist for 36 years before opening Binienda’s Wholesale Florist in 2014 with his wife and son.
He was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Dudley, where he once taught CCD classes. He was actively involved in Boy Scout Troop #274 at the church and served as a Round Table Commissioner. He was a former member of the Oxford Knights of Columbus Council. A die-hard Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame fan, he had a playful personality and was loved by his family, friends, and customers. He made friends easily and had a gift for conversation. He was a collector at heart, with football jerseys and hats, as well as coins, stamps, and comic books among his many interests. He loved history and was a great storyteller.
In his spare time, he enjoyed being home, watching games, and doing yardwork. He loved his family above all.
His funeral will be held Saturday, May 30, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road. Burial will be in Waldron Cemetery, Dudley. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, May 29, in the funeral home.
