Obituary

MANCHESTER ---- Richard “Dick” Dockx, 89, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, on December 15, 1936, Dick was the oldest son of William and Lillian (St. Pierre) Dockx. After graduating from Manchester High School West, he enlisted in the Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. After his military career, Dick worked as a skilled tradesman leading to over 40 years as a welding foreman.

Richard is survived by his wife, Janet “Jan” (Yergeau) Dockx. They celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on March 5, 2026. They enjoyed traveling the world together to near and far places, hosting family and friends at their home and walks on the beach.

Richard was a sports enthusiast. As a boy he was a skilled gymnast. He excelled at football, baseball and golf. He later fell in love with tennis where he built his own clay court and hosted many tennis events at his home. Dick enjoyed playing games with his family and friends, camping, hiking, trips to the casino, and finding ways to make people laugh. He was down to earth and hardworking. He was one of a kind, a true legend. Though he will be deeply missed, he will remain with us every day through the memories and love he leaves behind.
