H. Carter Simmons a 40 year resident of Needham, died at his home on Monday September 18 after a courageous battle with lymphoma. He was 74 years old. Mr. Simmons was a U.S. Marine Corps Korean War veteran. A graduate of Boston College Class of 1962, he worked as a Manufacturers Rep for household appliances. Mr. Simmons was an active member of the Boylston Schul-Verein in Walpole. He was a member of Saint Bartholomew Parish. Mr Simmons, along with his wife, loved to travel throughout Europe, especially to Germany and Ireland. The beloved husband of Patricia A. (Rooney), he was the loving father of Maureen Nowak of Medfield, Denise Castelline and her husband Paul of Framingham, Brenda Fitzgerald and her husband Kern of Medway and Brian Simmons of Melbourne Beach FL. Cherished “Opa” to his grandchildren Meghan and Sasha Nowak, Ryan, Erin and Michaela Castelline and Maggie and Katie Fitzgerald. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Thursday September 21 at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Bartholomew Church at 10:00. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Wed 4-8 PM. Interment at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne on Thursday at 1:30 PM.
