Randall James Frantz, 71, of Hillsdale, PA, husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend was received into the arms of Jesus Christ our savior on May 25, 2026.
Randy was born on September 8th, 1954. He was the third of six children. As a young boy you could always find him tearing something apart to figure out how to put it back together. He was gifted with an extremely mechanical mind and was always looking to ‘find a better solution.’
Randy married his high school sweetheart, Kathryn (Katie) in 1974. They were married for 52 years. They share two children: Ryan (Amber Frantz) and Matthew (Angela Frantz). The boys were Randy's pride and joy. The family had the honor of working alongside each other every day. Randy loved getting to see his grandchildren: Tyra (Eric Faught), Taylin (Christopher Scott), Seth, Maddox, Sky, and Tinzlei. He also adored his great-grandchildren, Shepherd Faught and Sanai Scott.
As a young adult, Randy founded Hillsdale Construction and Excavating Company Inc with his brother, Richard Frantz. If you saw one, the other was never far behind. These two spent their entire lives side by side. Later in life, they began the adventure of farming and founded Apple Grove Farms LLC.
Randy attended The Summit Church in Indiana, PA and loved listening to worship music. If he wasn't running his Red International Harvester Tractor, running to grab a part, or being a pool shark, you could find him watching GunSmoke and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Randy was preceded in death by his Mother, Mary Kathryn Frantz, and sister Lynda Frantz. Randy is survived by his wife, Kathryn L Frantz, sons Ryan and wife Amber Frantz, and Matthew and wife Angela Frantz. His grandchildren: Tyra and Eric Faught, Taylin and Christopher Scott, Tinzlei Frantz, Seth Frantz, Maddox Frantz, Sky Frantz, and great-grandchildren Shepherd Faught and Sanai Scott. Also, his siblings: Richard Frantz, Joseph (Belinda) Frantz, Kim Lazor, and William (Faye) Lazor.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Interment will follow at the Rowley Cemetery in Hillsdale, PA.
