Deanie Moore Cleghorn, 83, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Charlie Solomon officiating.
Mrs. Cleghorn was born May 9, 1943, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late James Paul & Ola Myrtice Dix Moore. She graduated from Irwin County High School in 1960. She worked many years for the Department of Leisure Services and retired as office manager, and she also worked for Sears. Mrs. Cleghorn enjoyed playing tennis, teaching ceramics, gardening and yard work. She was also an avid Braves and NASCAR fan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, H.L. Cleghorn of Fitzgerald, two sons: Al Cleghorn & Cheryl of Fitzgerald and Bill Cleghorn & Crystal of Cordele; grandchildren: Chris Cleghorn & Vanessa, Brent Cleghorn & Shelby, Anthony Waller, Braden Hartley, Kaitlyn Hartley and Jacob Hartley; one great-grandchild, Addison Cleghorn and three sisters: Joyce Giddens of Fitzgerald, Alice Huff of Orange Park, Florida and Pat Smith of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dottie Ross and three brothers: Johnny Moore, Jack Moore and Russell Moore.
