Jose De Pina, 74, passed away on May 21, 2026, at the Boston Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Maria Rodrigues Tavares of Brockton.
Born in Praia, Cutelo Gomes, Cabo Verde, Jose was the son of the late Mateus Aurora De Pina and Gregoria Mendes Tavares. He worked as a business owner in the retail industry and was known for his strong work ethic, generosity, and devotion to his family and community. Jose enjoyed farming on his land, raising animals, producing grogo, and spending time with those he loved.
In addition to his wife, Jose is survived by his twelve sons, Jose, Evaldo, Julio, Emanuel, David, Elisio, Helder, Elson, Wylker, and William; his five daughters, Claudia, Carla, Elisangela, Leticia, and Dunia; his six brothers, Jorge, Ze Manel, Otavio, Atim, Otilio, and Gerson; his eight sisters, Italia, Zinha, Madalena, Zaza, Monica, Benedita, Zita, and Zilena; his thirty grandchildren, Jairsa, Fernanda, Edmilson, Abner, Kayla, Daiane, Jailson, Jacira, Josiene, Savio, Lucy, Ricardo, Thiago, Dylan, Elijah, Erick, Tyler, Kayden, Jamal, Janayla, Mason, Junior, Ellise, Ellie, Eliane, Mathew, Rosalina, Eulana, Diego, and Siena; and his eleven great-grandchildren, Julian, Gael, Aleccia, Mairine, Edmilson, Ayla, Djeyla, Ronilson, Jonas, Deyson, and Anaya. He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Visiting hours will be held at Funerarias Multi Culturel on a day and time to be announced.
Funeral services and burial will follow in his home country of Cabo Verde.
