
LACONIA ---- Rose Mary Straehl, 90, of Sarah Circle, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at her home.
Rose was born on December 16, 1935, in Walpole, MA, the daughter of the late Emile and Mary (Fournier) Pelletier.
When she was 18, she moved to New York, where she met her husband Peter and lived in New Rochelle, Elmsford, and Mount Kisco for 60 years. She worked for the West Chester County Center as a box office manager.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, playing Bridge, listening to Kenny Rogers and bowling, Broadway shows and opera. Her love of baking was well known because of her delicious Christmas cookies, baked Alaska, and Easter basket cakes. If she wasn’t telling jokes, you could find her reading peacefully in her favorite chair.
Rose is survived by her sons Andrew Straehl and Brian Straehl; daughter Allyn Straehl; grandchildren Clint Austin Straehl and Connor Harrison; three great grandchildren; sister Theresa “Terry”; sister-in-law Joanne; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Hans Straehl; son Steven Straehl; brothers Omer, Raymond, Roland and Joseph; and sisters, Florence, Helena and Claire.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at her home in Laconia, NH.
