JOHN L.REYNOLDS, SR died CHRISTMAS EVE DECEMBER 24, 2025
John L (Jack) Reynolds Sr. of Douglas Ma passed away at home on Xmas eve December 24, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. His wife Diane predeceased him on May 10, 2024.
He leaves his sons, John L Reynolds Jr of Douglas, Ma., Michael Reynolds of Biddeford, Maine, Scott Reynolds of Worcester, Ma., Jamie Reynolds of Worcester, Ma. He leaves his sisters, Ann Burch and her husband Kenneth of Auburn, Ma., Joanne Cullinan and her husband Keith of Plymouth, Ma., Susan Rochette and her husband Neil of Greensboro, NC., and his brother, George Reynolds of Auburn, Ma. John leaves 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves many friends including his best friend Dave Cross of Douglas, Ma.
John was born in Worcester, Ma, his parents, George A Reynolds and Anna E (Reynolds) Carlson predeceased him. He was also predeceased by two sisters and his brother, Virginia M Gates, Barbara J McGinn of Worcester, Ma., and James A Reynolds of Auburn, Ma. His wife Diane predeceased him May 10, 2024. She was the love of his life, in which he couldn’t wait to be reunited together forever.
John attended high school for 2 years and successfully completed his GED. He joined the Navy during the Vietnam War. He served upon USS Morton and almost 6 months later his younger brother James reunited with him aboard ship. He was released from active duty within 3 months of the USN contract and transferred to the Naval reserve. He received the following metals; National Defense Service Medal Vietnam Service Metal with 2 bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal with Device, Meritorious Unit Commendations.
He married his love Diane in October of 1968. In earlier years he worked at Hood Dairy, Norton Company for over 20 yrs and Atlas Distributors, until he became disabled.
He enjoyed playing cards and horseshoes. Summer vacations at the beach. He enjoyed having a swimming pool for all the kids to enjoy and having cookouts. But most of all he loved being a Papa to all the kids, everyone loved him. He will be deeply missed.
The burial of John and Diane will be held on June 12, 2026 at 10:30 am at All Faiths Cemetery,( section O ) 9 Island Road, Worcester, Ma 01603. Following the burial of John and Diane a Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm at American Legion Post 288, 570 Mill Street, Worcester, Ma 01602.
