John D. Gentile, a resident of Boston, passed away at his home on Thursday
morning, May 14,2026. He was 61 years old.
Born in Dover, New Hampshire, John was the beloved son of John H. Gentile
and the late Patricia E. Foley. John was a prolific salesman in the lighting
industry and was a mentor to many. Prior to his illness, John could be found
spending time with his kids and driving around in his beloved Jaguar with a
diet coke.
After persevering through multiple ailments, John passed away peacefully in
his sleep on the morning of May 14th, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
John is survived by his 5 loving children; Drew (Orion) E. Gentile of New
Mexico, Darren J. Gentile of Boston, Alicia G. Gentile of California, David H.
Gentile of New Hampshire, and Derek Janco and his wife Holly of Tyngsboro.
John is also survived by his siblings; Michael Gentile of Florida, Christopher
Gentile and his wife, Judy of Florida, and Lauren Gentile of Brewster. He
leaves behind his former wife; Kristian Gentile, his grandson; Jax Janco, and
his three loving nieces; Jordan, Jenna and Geena Gentile.
John will be laid to rest with his beloved mother, Patricia Foley, at Oak Grove
Cemetery in Medford, Massachusetts. His wake & viewing will be held for all
friends, family and those known to John on Saturday, May 30th, 2026, at
9am-10:30am at Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford,
Massachusetts. John's funeral mass will follow the viewing at 11 AM in St. Rapahel Church, 514 High Street, Medford.
John will be dearly missed by all, and he leaves behind a legacy that will not
be forgotten.
