Obituary

Middleton — Raymond F. Dube, 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield, MA, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, following a long illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Pauline A. (Levesque) Dube, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
He was a loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Family meant everything to Ray and always came first. His devotion to those he loved never wavered, and his love was unconditional. Quiet and reserved by nature, he nevertheless left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Ray was known for his dry, quick wit, gentle presence, and dependable nature. He was the steady foundation and glue that held his family together — always reliable, generous with his time and heart, and happiest when helping others. A man of action more than words, Ray showed his love through everything he did. Though he spoke sparingly, his words were sincere, meaningful, and carried a lasting impact in the hearts of those he loved.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late John B. and Priscilla (Jalbert) Dube. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his tour of duty, Ray was employed by Stop & Shop for many years and retired from the company as a store manager. Following his retirement, he worked for the Peabody Public Schools until his second retirement in 2003. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Salem Council.
Ray is survived by his daughters, Karen P. Sullivan and her husband, Brian, of Brewster; Diane Ferreira and her husband, Mark, of Seekonk; and Michelle O’Grady and her husband, Joseph, of Middleton; seven grandchildren, Caolinn, Adam, Meaghan, Emily, Lily, Delaney, and Christopher; and two great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Amelia. He is also survived by his siblings, Rita Page of Freedom, NH, Roger Dube of Saugus, Albert Dube of Salem, and Patricia Gagne and her husband, George, of Milton, NH; his sister-in-law, Lucy Dube; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his loving wife, he was predeceased by his siblings, Lucielle Lavoie, Lucien Dube, and Rollande Grant.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visiting hours on Wednesday, May 27, from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114/1-A], Salem, MA, followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Military honors will follow at the Danversport Waterfront in Danvers, MA, at 1:30 p.m., with a reception immediately following at Danversport.
