Mark J. Matthes Sr., 67, of Dracut, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at his home. The son of the late William and Rita (Beliveau) Matthes, he was born in Methuen on September 22, 1958, and had been an area resident all his life. Mark was employed by Lowell Armored, and Dunbar as a security officer. He was also a member of the Lawrence Auxiliary Police. Mark enjoyed watching the Boston Bruins, New England Patriots, wrestling and auto auctions. His greatest love was spending time with his family. Mark is survived by three daughters: Carolann and her husband Joshua Oakes of Dracut, Jennifer and her husband Matthew Melanson of North Andover, Samantha and her husband Staff Sergeant Michael Williams Fort Drum, NY, Four sons: Mark Matthes and his wife Cindy of Methuen, Michael Matthes and his wife Kristin of Manchester, NH, Ronald Matthes of Wilmington, and Benjamin Matthes and his wife Kelly of Dracut. one sister: Linda and her husband Michael Terrio of Lawrence, one brother: William Matthes Jr. and his wife Chung-Ling of Salem, NH, one uncle: Sonny Beliveau of Methuen. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd., Dracut. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, May 22, 2026, at St. Francis Church in Dracut. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Methuen.
