Obituary

Richard B. “Feets” Flattery, 65, of Worcester died Monday, 18th at home, leaving behind many who will remember his hardworking spirit, kind heart, and love for simple joys in life. He leaves three brothers, Stephen Flattery and his wife, Francine of Worcester, David Flattery and his wife, Denise of Worcester, and John Flattery and his wife, Terri of Oxford; a sister, Mary Rochette and her husband, David of Worcester; his aunt, Sr. Mary Therese, SND; and several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Henry and Anna (Fitzgerald) Flattery and graduated from Boys Trade. For 17 years, Richard worked for the Worcester Schools Department as a custodian at both South High School and Sullivan Middle School. He took pride in his work and the relationship he built throughout the years before retiring in 2023. Richard truly enjoyed working and valued staying busy and productive.
In his free time, he found happiness in woodworking, creating projects with care and craftsmanship. He also cherished the time spent with his friends, sharing laughter, stories, and companionship that meant so much to him.
Among Richard’s greatest companions was his beloved bird, Loki, whom he loved dearly and cared for deeply.
Known affectionately to many as “Feets,” Richard will be remembered for his dedication, friendly nature, and the many memories he created with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
