
WILBRAHAM – Jeanne (Mercier) Denoncourt, born to Edward and Simone Mercier on October 2, 1928 in Chicopee died peacefully, surrounded by caregivers and family on May 15, 2026. Jeanne graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield in 1947. She married the love of her life, Jean Paul on May 6, 1950 and had two children. Jeanne stayed home to raise her children and care for her parents and extended family aunts while supporting Jean in his military career. She also worked part time jobs during school hours. After living in a small home in Chicopee, Jeanne sold her home as the family was growing. This is when she decided that real estate was to be her career. Jeanne’s family lived in Chicopee all of their lives and it was so important for her to find suitable housing for everyone she met. She was employed by Authier Realty, and subsequently Coldwell Banker real estate, where she found great success, winning numerous awards and accolades. She also was a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society. Jeanne worked until the age of 89. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Jean, in October 2023. For the past three years, Jean and Jeanne had been residing at Benchmark at Orchard Valley in Wilbraham after multiple illnesses. Her sister, Lea and husband, Roger of Ormond Beach, FL predeceased her as well. Jeanne will be deeply missed by her children and their families to include: Rick of Granby, Linda Davis of NH, Aaron and Amber Davis, Abby and Aaron Sales, Jr.; great grandchildren, Layla and Trey; and Godchild Tom Denoncourt. She also leaves many nieces and nephews throughout the country. Funeral services and burial for Jeanne and her husband, Jean will be private. There are no visiting hours.
