
In the stillness of the early morning, Gerald William Redman made his transition to heaven after an extended illness. He was a patient of Vista Park in Douglas, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church in Tifton, Georgia. Father Nathan Wilson will be officiating the service. The viewing will be at 1:00 p.m. and the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Church Cemetery in Irwin County.
Christian Armstrong, Mark Metts, Jeff Lewis, Guy Martin, Jim Paulk, Nathan Luke and Zac Bryant will serve as pallbearers.
Gerald William Redman was the son of William Sterling Redman and Orine Virginia Williams Redman. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio. He grew up in Struthers, Ohio and Orlando, Florida. Gerald was married to Nancy Roberts Redman. They were married on June 24, 1995.
Gerald is a member of Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church. He loved the church and the people. He served in many capacities as M.C., sang in the choir and taught classes. He was extremely conscientious of his personal relationship with God. Gerald was the author of a book entitled Life Management, Principles for Balanced Living. He believed in being a responsible steward in God’s kingdom and traveled to many countries teaching stewardship. Traveling to Africa was one of his favorites, teaching God’s principles of stewardship. He visited five continents and 33 countries. Teaching God’s word was his heart. Gerald was the manager of Joseph A. Bank, Men’s Clothing Shop. He had a talent in assisting gentlemen in custom designer clothes for the professionals. He was extraordinary in this element: Gerald retired a few years ago. He also pursued his license with the Georgia State Bar for Arbitration and Mediation. He also was a licensed insurance professional. He was always desiring to challenge himself and did that well. He was a runner and he and his wife, Nancy, did lots of races together. Gerald completed a marathon in Tennessee. He loved to travel and he and Nancy did lots of traveling together. He would share that their trip to Ireland was the most cherished with Nancy.
Gerald graduated high school in Orlando, Florida and completed three years at Lee University in Tennessee. Gerald was an avid reader and read scores of books of various subjects and loved to discuss them with others.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Nancy Roberts Redman of Irwin County; his children, Gerald W. Redman, II (Jeanine) of Arvada, Colorado, Gregory Redman (Deb) of Cleveland, Tennessee, Kristi Redman of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Marcus Harper of Tarrytown, New York; his grandchildren, Lindsey Armstrong, Christian Armstrong and Jennifer Redman; and one great-grandchild, Sterling Armstrong.
