Obituary

Richard "Dickie" Cronin, 86, of Roslindale, MA, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Joseph P. and Margaret (Flanagan) Cronin, he was born in Boston and raised in Mission Hill. He then became a longtime resident of Roslindale, where he made countless memories with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a family man and loved spending any chance he could with them.

Dickie was the kind of person who could fix anything and everything, always finding a way to make things work. His quick wit and unmatched sense of humor could light up any room, and behind it all was a true heart of gold. He will be remembered for his kindness, laughter and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. He was predeceased by his treasured wife, Beverly, with whom he shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. He is survived by his daughters, Eileen Morahan of Weymouth and her husband Richard, and Beverly Reardon of Milford, New Hampshire. He was the cherished Grampy to Courtney, Catie, Ryan, Syd, and Riley. He was also predeceased by his beloved siblings, Joseph Cronin, Carol Galpin, Francis Cronin, Edward Cronin, and Robert Scales. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Wednesday, May 20th from 4-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, May 21st at 8:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Mission Church) at 10am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
