Silvio Joesph Qualich
October 22.1959- April 28,2026

Silvio Joesph Qualich, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, veteran and friend, passed away peacefully on April 28th 2026 in Rockville, Maryland. He was born on October 22nd 1959 in Astoria, Queens, New York and a longtime resident of Mystic, Connecticut.

He was the the son of Nicoletta Radoslovich and Guiseppe Qualich, married September 15, 1957. Brother of Robert Qualick of Arlington, Washington.

He attended William Floyd High School where he built lasting friendships and a strong foundation for the life he would go on to lead.

Silvio was the beloved husband of Valerie Ann Stillman, born September 3, 1958 and passed away on July 2, 2020. Together they built a life full of love, laughter and devotion.

Silvio was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Groton, where he found fellowship, purpose and community. Silvio proudly served his country aboard the U.S.S. Hoist from November 1988 until January 1993. He was later stationed at The Naval Hospital Groton until February 1995.

After completing his enlistment he began a long dedicated career at Southern New England Telephone, which later became AT&T and then Frontier Communications. He retired in May 2018 after many years of faithful services.

Silvio enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He was a big fan of Jeopardy, had a deep love for history and science fiction and never turned down a good novel. What he treasured most of all was time with his grandkids.

Silvio is survived by his children Marc, Jackie, Alex, Joel, Andrew, Justin, Heather and Lacey. Proud Grandfather to Antonio, Marissa, Emily, Staton, Collin, Savannah, Cameron, Gray, Spencer, Vincent, Nicole and Zach. Silvio was preceded in death by his wife Valerie and parents Nicoletta and Guiseppe.

Silvio will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to his family, his country and community. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and integrity that will live on in all that knew him.
