
Charles Phillip Taylor, 62, of Fitzgerald, died May 15, 2026, at his residence.
Memorial graveside services will be held 2 PM, Monday, May 18, 2026, at Abba Church Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia, with Tony Sheffield and Michael Kitchens delivering a eulogy and the Rev. Howard Kitchens officiating. The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the services.
Mr. Taylor was born February 26, 1964, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Charles Edward Taylor and the late Kathy White O’Neal. He was a 1982 graduate of Tift County High School and graduated in 1990 from Ben Hill-Irwin Tech with a degree in Industrial Maintenance. He worked as an Instructor for Ben Hill-Irwin Technical, later Wiregrass Technical College and spent a brief time at Miller Brewing in Industrial Maintenance. He loved spending time with his grandson, Charlie. Mr. Taylor was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Kitchens Taylor; daughters: Peyton Elizabeth Taylor and Bailey Taylor Harpe (Reed) both of Tifton; a grandson, Thomas Charles Harpe “Charlie”; a brother, Hines Taylor (Jennifer) of Fitzgerald; step-mother, Maggie Taylor of Brunswick; step-father, James O’Neal of Fitzgerald; nieces and a nephew: Rachel West (Dorsey) of Pooler, Josie Taylor and Ty Taylor both of Fitzgerald; a great niece and nephew: Shep West and Stella Katherine West; father-in-law, Howard Kitchens of Fitzgerald; and a brother-in-law, Michael Kitchens of Acworth.
