Obituary

Richard (Rick) Hermann Harry Kuniholm, formerly of Wellesley, died at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital, Hanover, NH on May 12, 2026 after a sudden brief illness. He was 70 years old. Rick was the son of Carl Axel and Theda (Schmidt) Kuniholm. He was the younger brother of June Kuniholm Fish Anton (Robert), Palm Beach Gardens, FL and the late Carl Steven Kuniholm. Robert (Bob) J. Anton, lovingly and devotedly cared for his brother in law Rick, as his Guardian, until Bob's death. Rick was the beloved uncle of D. Alexander Fish (Amara), NYC, NY and Ashley Theda Grant (Gregory), Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Great Uncle to Carter Lloyd Grant and Owen Baxter Grant.

Rick was born in NYC, NY and was raised in Wellesley Hills, MA where he attended school, later graduating from the White Mountain School, Bethlehem NH and then matriculating at Curry College, Milton, MA graduating with a B.A.
Rick was a skilled sailor, racing out of the Bass River Yacht Club, South Yarmouth, MA and an avid alpine and cross country skier.

Rick worked at North American Mfg., Holliston, MA as a cost analyst. He lived in Natick,MA before moving to Woodstock, VT. Rick battled debilitating and progressive MS, struggled successfully with mental health challenges and was blinded from glaucoma.
In his later years Rick was cared for at the Woodstock Terrace Assisted Living Community, Woodstock, VT and most recently at Cedar Hill Continuing Care Community, Windsor, VT

Funeral services and interment will be private. Contributions in Richard's memory may be made to the North Chapel, North Universalist Chapel Society, Woodstock, VT or to a charity of one's choice.
