
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald N. Crotty, age 84, of Medford, Massachusetts. He passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, after a period of declining health. Ronald was the beloved husband of Joanne (Santosuosso) Crotty. Born in Boston, he was raised in Somerville and was the cherished son of the late William F. and Josephine C. (Lacey) Crotty.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Ronald worked for National Grid prior to his retirement. Leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love, he will be remembered as a loyal and caring person who was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a devoted family man and a loyal friend whose presence brought comfort and strength to those who knew him.
Ronald was a devout parishioner of St. Raphael Church in Medford, where he faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was known for his kindness, quiet wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones. He lived his life with integrity and compassion—values that will endure through the many lives he touched.
Ronald was the devoted father of Jason Crotty and his wife Rose of Nashua, NH, and Janel Mack and her husband Melvin of Charlotte, NC. He was the adored Papa of Keanna Crotty, and Juliana and Ella Mack, and he especially loved his grand puppies, Daisy and Minnie. He was the dear brother of Vin Crotty and his wife Tina, the late Bill Crotty and his former wife Nancy Nelson, the late Bob Crotty and his late wife Carol, and the late Jo Ann St. Croix and her late husband Connie. Ronald was also the brother in law of Nick and Sally Santosuosso, Rose and Joe Giovanni, Maryann and the late Tom Howell, and Donna and Bob Mullen. He is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews and will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, on Friday, May 15, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ronald’s name to St. Raphael Parish, 512 High Street, Medford, MA 02155.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
