Laura Ann Rowell Harris, 47, of Omega passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jason Wade officiating. Laura will be laid to rest at Lawrence Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Tristan Merritt, Sean Watts, Randy Gray, Dewayne Harris, Gerald Holley, Chris Williams, Dalton Harris, Michael Horton and Stacy Cribb, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 21, 1979, in Ben Hill County, Laura was the daughter of Betty Lou Smith Rowell of Omega and the late Lamar Rowell. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one son, Jessie James "Bam" Harris, II. She was a former employee at Tift Regional Medical Center, where she was a neuro-transcriptionist. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Traveling and crocheting were among her interests. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Tifton.
In addition to her mother, Laura is survived by one son, Ricky Harris of Enigma; two daughters, Kodie Harris (Tristan Merritt) of Wray and Ashley Charles of Ocilla; one sister, Christie Cribb of Omega; and eight grandchildren, Leslie Charles, Kaden Harris, Skylar Charles, Brantley Harris, Kadence Brown, Maryella Merritt, Kobe Morris and Emery Lattimore.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the funeral home for assistance with Laura’s services.
