Obituary

On May Fourth, 2026, Paul B. Munchbach of Dedham passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Paul was born in Dedham, Massachusetts in 1944 to Arthur William and Violet Munchbach. He attended Dedham Public Schools and graduated from Dedham High School in 1961. He would later serve seven years in the United States Army National Guard. He was a proud member of the Boston Carmen’s Union Local 589, Maintenance Control Coordinator Local 453, American Legion Post 18 in Dedham, Boylston Schul-Verein in Walpole, Massapoag Sportsmen’s Club, The Society in Dedham for the Apprehension of Horse Thieves and a former member of Dedham Town Meeting,

Paul is predeceased by his parents and his sister Ethel. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Lou Munchbach and their sons Paul and Jimmy Munchbach and his daughters in law Tonya Munchbach and Susan Munchbach, and his grandchildren Michael, Nicole, Bobby and Faith Munchbach. He is also survived by his brother Arthur Munchbach and his wife Betty and his children Mary Kay., David, Linda, Mathew and Steven as well many other great-nieces and nephews.

Paul was a lover of animals, including dogs Murphy and Ollie, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, Miller Lite, and all the local Boston Sports teams!

A private wake will be held for family at George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High Street, Dedham. All are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, Dedham on Friday, May 8, at 10am as well as the burial service at Brookdale Cemetery to follow. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Animal Rescue League in Dedham (arlboston.org).
