Obituary

William H. ‘Bill’ Becker, Jr., 94, passed away at his “Bayberry” home, in Tewksbury, on April 25, 2026. He was the husband of the late Patricia B. (Gray) Becker, who passed away in April of 2009 after 55 years of marriage.

He was born on June 26, 1931 in Kearny, New Jersey, the son of the late William H. Becker Sr. and the late Eleanor H. A. (Belus) Becker. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Printing Management at Carnegie Institute of Technology.

In 1954, Bill enlisted with the United States Army, serving as radar repairman until his honorable discharge in 1956.

He lived in Holmdel, New Jersey, for most of his life, where he raised his children and served as a volunteer firefighter. He was also deeply involved in the family business, William H. Becker Printing, which was founded by his father in Newark, New Jersey, in 1936 and later relocated to Keyport. Upon his retirement from printing in 2000, he moved to Cape Cod to enjoy his later years.

He enjoyed fishing and was an active member of Christ Church Episcopal in Middletown, New Jersey. He had a passion for woodworking, no matter the medium or subject. He lived an active and social life, enjoying tennis and family skiing trips.

Bill is survived by three children, Wendy Byar and her husband, Peter of Willingboro, NJ, Christopher Becker and his wife, Juliet Carroll of Romulus, NY, and Pamela Moran and her husband, Gideon of Lowell; his grandchildren, Joanna Notary and her husband, Matt of Drescher, PA, Jonathan Max Byar and his wife, Marisa (Grillo) of West Islip, NY, Eric Becker and his wife, Claire Schmidt of Brooklyn, NY, Vivian Becker of Geneva, NY, Cynthia Becker and her husband, Eric Eichelberger of Freeville, NY, and Naomi Moran and her fiancé, Scott Bradley of Windham, NH; as well as, Noa Moran, his step-grandchild in Israel. He is also survived by his beloved great grandchildren, Josiah, Abigail, Gabriel, Henry, Amelia, and Milo.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Bastedo.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to local volunteer firefighters.
