Carl Vogel of Dedham passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026 surrounded by loved ones, including his beloved cat, Willow.
Beloved husband of the late Mary Vogel; devoted son of the late George and Gertrude Vogel. He was predeceased by his brother Robert and niece Debbie.
Loving father of Genevieve Solomon and her husband Shawn of Bridgewater, Jodie Rodgers of Warren RI, and Terilyn Anderson and her husband Peter of Middleboro. He also shared a close bond with Margaret Fontaine, the mother of his children. Cherished “Grampy” to Maura, Mikey, Anna, Mya, and Jack. Brother of Barbara Ford and her husband Tom; uncle of Maureen Hazzard.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Carl served in Vietnam with the 11th Air Assault Division. He later worked for the United States Postal Service, as an auto mechanic specializing in Saabs, and as a campus security guard.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, May 7 from 8:30–10:00 AM at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St, Dedham followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Dedham (accessible parking in the rear of the church). Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment private.
