
BRIDGEWATER ---- Paul G. Vanasse, 84, of Bridgewater, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, April 27, 2026.
Paul was born in Woonsocket, RI, on September 30, 1941, the son of H. Paul and Laurette (Begin) Vanasse. He graduated from Holy Name High School in Worcester, MA in 1959 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he traveled to countries all over the Atlantic Ocean. He was an interpreter in any country that used French as their first language. After the Navy, while working at Raytheon Company, he met his future wife, Donna. For the next forty years, he worked in all aspects of the construction trade – in union carpentry, being self-employed, and finally, construction management with Gilbane Building Company.
Paul and Donna went on to have eight children, and Paul passed on to them his love of fishing, hunting, and boating as well as his strong work ethic. Paul was a faith-filled man who lived out his faith.
Paul is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna (Winters) Vanasse, sons, Joseph Vanasse (Beatriz), John Vanasse (Beth), William Vanasse (Jill) and Greg Vanasse, daughters, Dominique Vasquez-Vanasse (Pedro), Arcelia Vanasse and Suzanne Vanasse, ten grandchildren, Rafael and Ricky Vazquez, Lily, Paislee and Theo Vanasse, Alanna Thorndike, Brayden Vanasse, and Kylie, Cason, and Callum Vanasse. He is also survived by his sisters, Lillian Wentworth, Aline Kenney, and Elizabeth McDaniels. In addition to his parents, Paul is predeceased by his son Paul D. Vanasse and brothers Pierre and Daniel Vanasse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11:00am, Holy Trinity Parish - St. Matthew Church, 11 School Street, Plymouth, NH 03264.
