PARSONSFIELD- Marsha Lee Hansen, 82, of Parsonsfield, passed away peacefully at the Gorham House on Friday, May 1, 2026, with her children and granddaughters by her side.
“Marshalee” was born on March 25, 1944, to the late Leonard Locke and Elaine (Doughty) Locke of Baldwin, Maine.
Marshalee was raised in West Baldwin Village alongside her younger sister, Sherry. She enjoyed spending time with her many Locke and Doughty cousins and relatives during those years. She especially loved music and learned to play the piano and organ.
She attended local schools and was a proud graduate of Fryeburg Academy. Following graduation, Marshalee worked at Fryeburg Academy as a secretary until the birth of her children, Kimberly (Eldridge) Jones and Timothy Eldridge.
Marshalee held many jobs and roles over the years in her community, but she especially loved her role as a caregiver at Lakeview Rehabilitation, where she showed care and compassion to those who had suffered head injuries.
In 1979, Marshalee married Charlie P. Libby of Porter. They spent 18 years together until Charlie’s passing, enjoying time on the road trucking for Charlie’s work and even running their own business for a time.
A few years after Charlie’s passing, she met and married Carroll Wayne Hansen of Parsonsfield. Known as “the lovebirds,” they lived life inseparably and to the fullest during their 22 years together. They enjoyed traveling with friends, bowling weekly, participating in the Ossipee Valley Fair parade, and, most of all, spending time with their family.
Marshalee excelled in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving them with many wonderful memories of her and her love for them.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, Charlie and Wayne, Marshalee was predeceased by her older sister, Judy Locke.
She is lovingly remembered by her surviving family: her sister, Cheryl “Sherry” Jordan, and her husband, Arthur; her children, Kimberly Jones and Timothy Eldridge; her stepchildren, Debbie, Dwayne, and Paul Libby; Carrol Aspinal, Janye Hendrick, and Linda Hansen; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her family extends their deep gratitude to the many caregivers at Gorham House and Compassus Hospice, who went above and beyond to care for Marshalee and support her family during these past months.
A graveside service will be held at the West Baldwin Cemetery on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
