FALL RIVER - Jose Martin, 80, of Arruda Lane, Dartmouth, formerly of 358 William St. Fall River, died Sunday in Fall River at St. Anne’s Hospital. He was the Husband of Silvana “Tia” (Machado) Martin currently of New Bedford. He is survived by 2 Brothers: Joao Martinho of Somerset and Manuel Martin of Fall River, 5 Sisters: Odelia Arruda of Dartmouth, Lourdes Almeida of Fall River, Marianne Almeida of Canada, Conceicao Tavares & Maria Gonsalves both of the Azores. Several nieces, nephews, and Great nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Antonio Martinho.
Born in Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Manuel Viveiros Martin and the late Maria (Correia) Martin. He was a resident of Fall River for 43 years. Before retiring, he had worked as a Construction Laborer for the former Campanelli Construction Co. He was a parishioner of Santo Christo Church and a member of the Fall River Sportsman’s Club.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, MA on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. at 9:00 a.m. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery Calling Hours Tuesday 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.
