
Karen Denise Avery, 66, of Chester, NH, passed away peacefully, Wednesday April 29, 2026 at her home with her beloved dog Lucy by her side. Karen was born December 22, 1959 in Salem, NH and was a daughter of the late Beverly (Place) Sevigny and Gary Dreger. Karen is a long-time resident of Chester.
Karen loved animals and nature. She looked after the chipmunks, birds and turkeys that came regularly to her yard. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening. Karen enjoyed bingo, keno and penny sales and finding freebies or bargains wherever it may be. She also enjoyed refurbishing many of her finds and giving them away to many of her lucky friends and family. Karen will always be remembered as a kind soul, who loved to help others whether she knew them or not.
Members of the family include her loving husband, John Avery; her son Michael Hale and his fiancée Nicole LeClerc; daughters Christina Watson, Sonya Hale and Crystalee Perry and her fiancé, Fred Ellis, III; six grandchildren, Tyvon, Jazlyn, Benjimin, Sharai, Tyler, and Aniya; three great grandchildren, Zhyaire, Zierra and J.J.; her brothers, Scott Dreger, and Keith Dreger; her sister, Diane Dreger; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
