Obituary

Jacqueline Sapp Furr Childs, 75, of Irwin County, died Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Edwin Dillard and Rev. Jim Berry will officiate with burial to follow in Turner Primitive Baptist Church. Morris Sapp, Buddy Sapp, Larry Cone, Damon Lowder, Dwayne Cleveland, Richard Page, Jerry Wiggins and Michael Wyatt will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 18, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Ms. Childs was born on December 11, 1930 in Tift County and was the daughter of John Kelly Sapp and Carrie Luke Sapp, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James M. Furr, Sr. and her second husband, W. A. Childs, Jr. She was retired from Irwin Manufacturing Company in Ocilla as a supervisor in the cutting room and was a member of Waterloo Baptist Church.

Ms. Childs is survived by four sons, Jerry K. Furr of Jacksonville, Florida, James M. Furr of Snellville, Thomas W. Furr of Saint Augustine, Florida and Robert Childs of Plant City, Florida; three daughters, Judy Davis of Waterloo, Elizabeth Jane Cleveland of Waterloo and Nancy Marling of Mandarin, Florida; one sister, Estelle Furr of Enigma; several grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
