Obituary


Alfred D. Autenzio, “Junior” age 87, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully, April 27, 2026 at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. He was the beloved husband for 52 years of the late Barbara A. (Giliberti) Autenzio who passed away in 2023.

Born in Woburn, Alfred was one of five children of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Sarno) Autenzio. He was a graduate of Woburn High School. Following high school Alfred began his truck driving career working with his father who owned and operated Woburn Retail Deliveries. He then went on to work for well over thirty years as a Truck Driver with Westwood Cartage and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 25. Following his retirement, Alfred owned and operated A&A Auto Sales with locations in Saugus and Danvers. Never one to sit idle, Alfred also worked with his nephews helping them operate their businesses, Autenzio Services Company and Paul's Landscape Service and Supplies Company.

Alfred loved to give back to his community and help others. He was a Past President of the Woburn Lions Breakfast Club, a member of the St. Anthony Club, and also served on the City of Woburn's Cemetery Commission. He was an active Parishioner of St. Barbara Church where he practiced his strong faith and served on the Finance Committee. Over the years prior to his wife's passing, together he and Barbara enjoyed traveling, boating and being active together socializing with their network of dear friends. He will be greatly missed.

Alfred was the cherished brother of Bob Autenzio and his wife Dianne of Woburn, Richard Autenzio and his wife Michele of Florida, Elizabeth Tomaselli and her husband Nick of Florida, and the late Lorraine Arsenault. He was the uncle of Bobby Autenzio, Jr. and his wife Shelly, Paul Autenzio and his wife Tammy, Robert Arsenault, Kenny Arsenault, Joanne Lightboun and her husband Mark, Donna Arsenault, Lorraine Iacopucci, and Cameron Tomaselli. He is further survived by many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn, Thursday, May 14th, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Barbara Church, Friday, May 15th, at 10 a.m. Service will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
